Educational Workshops

Year 5 Pupils at Throckley Primary School and Year 4 pupils from Sacred Heart Primary School made 25 colourful and artistic lanterns under the guidance of Dr. Chun-Chao Chiu throughout January 2009.

It wasa difficult jobs for them to create the frame but they have managed well. 

Mrs. Waddell from Sacred Heart Primary school said: ”Year 4 children at Sacred Heart Primary School had great fun making lanterns for the Chinese New Year.  The work was challenging but the children had a great sense of achievement when they had completed their models.”

Throckley Primary School headteacher Mr. Lofthouse said, “The year 5 Pupils have had an amazing inventive time with Chun Chao, who has really capture their imagination and given them confidence to create some really beautiful lanterns.”
